Fatherhood Round 2

Coming home Friday night I found I had some news waiting for me. My wife told me that she wanted me to see a video that she and my son had made while they were together for the day. I plainly replied, "You're pregnant aren't you?" She smiled and said she was, then proceeded to get mad at me for spoiling the surprise.

So, here I am looking at being a father to one more kid and I have to say...I'm totally excited. Not that I wasn't excited first time around, but there was something new this time. What was new was that I'd been here before and am still standing. Our first child was a bit of a surprise. We had wanted kids but didn't plan on it coming so soon. I can say honestly that I wasn't ready, but as any parent can tell you, kids make you ready real quick.

No matter where you are in life, there are certain things that no matter how unprepared you may be, or at least think you may be, you'll find soon enough that you have more in you than you ever did before.

So I'm excited, for my family, for my wife, and for the prospect of getting to grow through the challenges and good times ahead.
