Anyone that tells you they have the right answer for California's budget woes is either a fool or a liar. Yet, we still have to vote on things to get the budget back in order. So my fellow fools and liars I thought I'd start trying to find something about what's going on with the propositions coming up for election. Unfortunately, I haven't found much that I'd say is worthwhile. Mostly you find interest groups from the complete spectrum of California politics running around voicing their view points. One website that I think does a fairly decent job of laying things out for the layman voter is the California Budget Project .
Is it unbiased? Probably not, nothing really ever is. But it does have some pretty good introductions, both superficial and in depth, to the particulars of whats going on with the budget. And it at least avoids loaded terms like 'tax and spend liberal' or 'right wing conservative whacko' so its at least a kinder gentler bias if anything.
So if your looking for something other than just ranting and raving from the typical groups out there give it a try. It may be a bunch of crap, but then again most things in politics are.
